“Let love and faithfulness never leave you. Bind them around your neck and write them on the tablet of your heart.”Proverbs 3:3
Hi, I’m Dr. Snowy Joyce Khoza.
To my personal journal.
I am a seasoned executive, acknowledged strategist and development activist in the infrastructure development space. I was a CEO now an Executive Chairperson of an infrastructure development group that operates on the continent in addition to serving in private sector company Boards and running a family property investment company that operates in South Africa.
“We are all human beings with our own challenges and weaknesses. Life is a problem-solving process, and I guess without all these challenges life would be monotonous! For instance, I am twice divorced and have had to raise my children on my own. I faced these challenges with the faith that God our Heavenly Father is their father and Jesus is the Lover of my Soul.”
The Anchor of my life
My faith is that Jesus Christ is the son of God Jehovah, the Creator of heaven and earth. This is what I believe in. God so loved the world that He gave His One and only Begotten on, Jesus, to die for us. No-one on earth has such love as to take their one and only child and offer him/her as a sacrifice. Yet our heavenly Father did that for us. Because of this, I believe in love. Love for God and humanity. I frequently quote from the book of Proverbs: “Let love and faithfulness never leave you. Bind them around your neck and write them on the tablet of your heart”, and the love as described in 1 Corinthians 13. By God’s strength, my faith has helped me…
When I reflect on where I have been in my leadership journey, I realize that the many unintentional mistakes I made along the way were set up by our Heavenly Father. My leadership training began as a senior social worker with a number of student and qualified social workers reporting to me; thereafter I was a group executive at a bank. Later I became CEO and Executive Chairperson in an infrastructure development organization specializing in engineering, development finance, and social development activities. All these people who came across my path as a leader taught me a lot of things. I learnt that a leader has to be…
The Key of Life
While reading my story you may have realized that without education, I would not be where I am today. Because I took my education seriously, I work as the Executive Chairperson of the Bigen Group of Companies today – an organization that specializes in infrastructure development on the continent of Africa. Bigen prides itself in doing good while doing business by improving the quality of life of people. If I had not obtained my PhD and MBA I would have not occupied this position. In addition, I sat, and still sit, in both public and private sector boards. For example, I chaired the boards of Water Research Commission and the The…
I worked as a Social Worker in rural communities for many years – contributing to improving people’s quality of life. After I had qualified from the university of the North (then Turfloop) in the early 80’s, I felt God calling me to serve the poor. I knew what poverty was, having experienced it throughout my life up till that point. Part of my vision was to empower rural women through self-help projects, enabling them to feed and care for their own families. Many of these women had very limited education and skills. With the support of World Vision, the Government of the Netherlands and other local businesses we were able to…
“On the other hand, life is a blessing. There are so many things that I personally am thankful for. The biggest praise must be given to God Almighty that I am alive and was chosen by Him to be where I am today. In the eyes of others, I may look successful, but I know that my inner being and prayer life has to be significant. I would like to contribute more to other people’s lives – to be a blessing to our continent.”
“It is my prayer that through this website we will learn from one another by sharing how we overcame life’s challenges, and what we learnt from these.”
